Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, applications, tools, and related content operated under the name beoops (together, the "Services"), including the studio site and product tools such as QR generation, short-link hosting, Hong Kong FPS (轉數快) payload tools, and PayMe-style PayCode styling tools.

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Operator and contact

The Services are provided by beoops ("we", "us", or "our"). For notices about these Terms, contact [email protected].

Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law to use the Services. You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your use of the Services and for any devices or networks you use to access them.

Some features may store limited data (for example short-link mappings or language preference). You must not attempt to access another person's data or disrupt the Services.

Nature of the Services

The Services include informational portfolio content and software tools. Unless we enter a separate written agreement with you, the website and tools are provided for general use, demonstration, and convenience.

Nothing on the Services constitutes legal, financial, tax, banking, payment-scheme, or professional advice. You remain solely responsible for compliance with laws, bank rules, and payment-scheme requirements that apply to you.

Tools: QR, FPS, PayMe styling, and short links

Certain tools generate QR codes, encode payment-related payloads, style codes, or host short redirect links. These tools process data you provide. You must only submit content you have the right to use.

  • QR generation encodes text or URLs you supply (and optional design or logo data). Output quality and scannability can vary by device, app, and environment.
  • Hong Kong FPS (轉數快) tools build EMVCo / HKICL-style payload strings from fields you enter. They do not process payments, open bank accounts, or guarantee acceptance by any bank or wallet.
  • PayMe-related features only accept a public share link you paste and style or encode it locally. They do not use PayMe Business APIs, do not accept API keys or secrets, and are not affiliated with HSBC or PayMe.
  • Short-link hosting maps a generated path to a destination URL you choose. You are responsible for the destination and for any consequences of sharing the short link.
  • You must verify any payment code, payload, or link in the official bank or wallet application before collecting or sending money.

Third-party marks and no affiliation

Names, logos, and product marks of third parties (including but not limited to Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited, FPS / 轉數快, HSBC, and PayMe) may appear for descriptive or interoperability purposes only.

Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, we are not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with those parties. Third-party products remain subject to their own terms and policies.

Your content and conduct

You retain rights in content you submit (for example URLs, text, logos, payment identifiers, and display names). You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to operate the features you use (for example rendering a QR image or storing a short-link target).

You must not use the Services to:

  • Violate any law, regulation, or third-party right (including privacy, IP, and payment rules).
  • Commit fraud, phishing, spam, malware distribution, or social engineering.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation with banks or payment schemes.
  • Upload or paste secrets, API keys, passwords, private keys, or credentials into public tools.
  • Probe, overload, reverse engineer (except where mandatory law allows), or attack the Services.
  • Generate or host content that is illegal, harmful, or infringing.

Intellectual property

The Services, including site design, branding, software (excluding open-source components under their own licenses), and original content, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our materials except as allowed by these Terms, a separate license, or mandatory law. Open-source libraries used in the Services remain governed by their respective licenses.

Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that tools will remain compatible with third-party apps, scanners, or payment systems.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, unless applicable law requires a different process.

Privacy and data

We process limited technical and operational data needed to run the Services (for example language preference cookies, short-link mappings you create, and standard server logs).

Do not submit sensitive personal data, payment card numbers, government ID numbers, or secrets through public tools unless a feature is expressly designed and documented for that purpose under additional safeguards.

For privacy questions, contact [email protected]. If a separate Privacy Policy page is published, it forms part of how we describe data practices for the Services.

Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that QR codes, FPS payloads, PayMe-styled codes, short links, or any other output will be accepted by any bank, wallet, scanner, device, or person, or that they will result in successful payment, settlement, or delivery.

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties. In those cases, excluded warranties apply only to the extent permitted.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR CONTRIBUTORS, SUPPLIERS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US SPECIFICALLY FOR THE SERVICES GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) HKD 100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited).

Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless beoops and its contributors from and against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Services; (b) content you submit; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right, including payment, banking, or intellectual property rules.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Courts of Hong Kong shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, except that we may seek injunctive or equivalent relief in any jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or operational integrity.

If you are a consumer with mandatory protections in your place of residence that cannot be waived, those protections still apply to the extent required by law.

General

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, merger, or sale of assets.

These Terms, together with any additional terms we present for a specific feature and any separate written agreement between you and us, are the entire agreement regarding the Services and supersede prior or contemporaneous agreements on that subject.
